LAUNCH the future
OF EMPLOYMENT & INCOME INSTITUTE
Donate to the Launch Campaign:
The Future of Employment & Income is an initiative of the Bridge Era Institute. All donations through this campaign will be put towards the launch of the Future of Employment & Income Institute.
We’re in the midst of one of the most significant workforce transformations since the Industrial Revolution. Artificial intelligence is quickly mastering tasks traditionally performed by highly skilled professionals, such as legal drafting, financial forecasting, diagnostic imaging interpretation, and advanced data analysis, as well as the rapid automation of labor roles. Jobs once considered untouchable are now very much at risk. These technologies could boost productivity and prosperity, but they could also displace millions of jobs if we don’t act. We stand at a crossroads: Will AI’s benefits reach all of us, or just a privileged few?
Right now, nearly 40% of jobs worldwide are exposed to automation by AI. By 2030, it’s estimated that about one-third of work tasks in the U.S. could be done by machines. For a young software engineer, a 50-year-old truck driver, or a single mother working as an accountant, it could mean their livelihood vanishes without a safety net, and without a clear next step. The truth is, if we leave this transition to chance, many people from diverse backgrounds and professions may be left behind. We’re already seeing the weight of this economic anxiety: working people are wondering, “Will I still have a job next year? Will my kids have secure careers?” The stakes could not be higher – our identities, our families and communities, and the dignity that work provides are all on the line.
Take Alexis, for example. She’s a mother of two and a skilled accountant with 20 years of experience. This year, her company started using an AI system that can automate accounting tasks in seconds. Suddenly, Alexis isn’t sure about her future. “How will I support my kids if my job is automated?” she wonders. Alexis is not alone. From factory workers to financial analysts to medical professionals, people across industries are facing this same uncertainty. But imagine if we had programs to retrain workers like Alexis for new roles analyzing the AI’s outputs, or if policies were in place to support her income during the transition. She could continue to thrive and contribute, rather than being left adrift. That is the future we can create – but only if we begin building it now.
This is where The Future of Employment & Income Institute comes in. We’re a newly launched nonprofit think-and-do tank on a mission to ensure that advancements in AI lead to greater opportunity and security, not inequality. We don’t just study the future of work – we shape it. Our team brings together leading experts who understand technology, economics, and policy. We conduct research to forecast what’s coming, we convene key players (from tech CEOs to labor leaders) to forge solutions, and we work on policy innovation – ideas like new education programs, social safety nets, and fair AI practices that can protect workers and families. We’ve done this before on the global stage (our founder helped lead the World Summit on Technological Unemployment), and now we’re doing it with renewed urgency here at home and around the world.
We believe in a future where AI unlocks prosperity for all. In this future, a farmer in Iowa, a factory worker in Michigan, a coder in California, and a young graduate just entering the workforce all share in the economic gains AI brings. It’s a future where no one loses their livelihood simply because technology advanced, because we planned ahead: workers continually update their skills, new kinds of jobs are created, and if someone is displaced, systems are in place to help them land on their feet. In this future, AI is not a threat to our identity or security – it’s a tool that, managed wisely, can elevate humanity. But such a future won’t build itself. It requires action, now.
We have just launched the Institute and are kicking off this work in earnest – but we need partners who share our sense of urgency. This campaign is your chance to be a founding supporter of solutions that will shape the lives of millions.
Every dollar you give is fuel for this mission. Even a small donation helps us publish the next eye-opening report, host regional roundtables, or advise policymakers on smarter strategies. And those actions can ripple out to create real-world change – the company that keeps its workers employed and retrained, the town that attracts new AI-era jobs, the family that doesn’t have to worry about putting food on the table.
The Future of Employment & Income Institute is at the start of an incredible journey. We have the expertise, the passion, and a plan. What we need now are supporters who believe, as we do, that the rise of AI should lift everyone. By donating to this campaign, you are not just giving money – you’re giving hope and shape to a better future. You’re saying that Alexis’ career is worth saving, that every worker deserves a chance to succeed in the new economy, and that our society is capable of proactive, bold action when faced with great change.
Join us as a founding donor. Your contribution – whether $10 or $1,000 – is a vote for a future where technology and humanity move forward together. We urgently invite you to be part of this first wave of supporters that will launch the Institute’s work. Together, we can develop the solutions now that will make the difference for decades to come. The future of work is everyone’s future – let’s make sure it’s a future we can all look forward to.
Thank you for standing with us. With your help, we can ensure that when the history of the AI revolution is written, it will be a story of empowerment, inclusivity, and shared prosperity – a story that we began, together, today.
